Tartan Hedgehog Printing Services started as THE WESTED PRESS in 1955, when the founder Don Wells purchased an Adana HS2 printing machine and started doing Printing for Local Sports Clubs and Churches from at first a spare bedroom and later a shed in the back garden.

In 1970 The Wested Press rented premises in Old Forge Yard, Swanley Village and Don and his wife Doreen went full-time.

In 1973 with the acquisition of Tartan Printing Company Limited, Don's son Dennis became full-time and in July Don's other son David joined the business full-time.

From 1976-1980 Tartan Printing and The Wested Press occupied larger premises on Dartford Industrial Trading Estate at Powder Mill Lane.

Following the amalgamation of the Companies with GT Litho we moved to Lower Hythe Street, Dartford in 1980.

In 1992 we moved to our present works in Foots Cray, and traded as Tartan Printing Services and The Wested Press.

On the retirement in November 2003 of Christine and George Savage we acquired the Hedgehog Press and changed our trading name to Tartan Hedgehog Printing Services.
